Teaming up -- Friday February 21st, 2020

K9C42C will be pairing up with "Recovery Rover"!!! Recovery Rover (or) R&R as they are affectionately called. R&R is a program for rescue dogs to become "Therapy Dogs". R&R has created a program that allows people in recovery to take Therapy Dogs to do visits in jails, nursing homes, and hospitals and to visit those who are in crisis. A special interest is being focused on children and young adults. By sharing true stories about the dogs and their lives coupled with a 4 pawl visitor. My vision is to utilize those with no voice to speak to those in Recovery & Crisis. Restoring hope, and a message of God's unconditional love, much like that of these special 4 pawed creatures. We hope to bring smiles and joy to the dark spaces of people's lives. People in recovery (any kind) are encouraged to join our crusade and become a "Therapy Dog handlers". To do so you must be 1.) In Recovery (this is strictly self proclaimed) and 2.) you must not have any history of abuse, violence, or neglect against animals, people, or children. 3.) You must be willing to donate your time learning to handle therapy dogs in a therapy group setting, and one on one sessions, as an effort of giving back to the Central Pennsylvania Community. Those who are certified as "Handlers" who have special dogs of "their own" they would like to get certified as "R&R Therapy dogs" are encouraged to do so by 1.) Paying a small application and processing fee 2.) Accompany their dog to program visits with a minimum of three visits to become certified. 3.) Your dog must be able to pass a specially designed "test" at the end of the 3 visits.4.) Your dog must pass a "Health Certificate" with our vet. After all requirements are met each dog will receive a certificate, a cape to wear on visits, and a R&R Certified Therapy Dog identification tag. This program is full funded by an anonymous source and as part of our vision we will not ever ask for monetary donations of any kind from our program services. This program is about Giving Back ….The love and gift of recovery that is so freely available to those that suffer with addiction giving back to the community with a simple message of hope.
